Sept. 16: The Kadapa police raided Balaji Fertilisers, the company which belongs to the brother-in-law of Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, and Kadapa mayor, Mr P. Ravindranath Reddy, and seized some important documents on Thursday.
It may be recalled that the police had seized 102 tonnes of complex fertilisers from six trucks which were being taken from the mayor’s company in Kadapa three days ago. The police who did not dare to look at this company in the past, launched a crackdown on illegal fertilisers stored across the district. About 25 inspectors and SIs entered the company premises at 11.30 am after locking the entrance gates. They verified records and fertiliser reserves. On receiving the information, the mayor’s lawyers reached the company and demanded the police to join them for inspection. However, the cops did not allow them for three hours.
The police seized records in the presence of the Kadapa tahsildar, Mr Muni Raju, and two revenue inspectors. The police continued inspections till evening.
