To win her fans over, a
Bollywood beauty needs to not only be a good actress but also a great
dancer. Many Bollywood divas have taken to learning a dance form for
their films. Here are a few ladies who have shimmied their way to the
top...
Rani Mukherjee is set to
take the floor with three styles of dance in her upcoming film,
'Aiyyaa'. These include a south Indian dance number, a lavani (Marathi
dance form) and a belly dance. The song 'Aga Bai Halla Machae Re' from
the film has the curvy belle shaking her hips to the music and the moves
apparently took Rani a while to master.
Katrina Kaif went from
wooden to lithe in her latest belly-jerking number 'Masha Allah' for the
blockbuster hit, 'Ek Tha Tiger'. Kats was shooting for the movie on the
borders of Turkey and Iran and decided to learn the moves from the
experts there and the result has been 'Mashallah!'
Katrina hasn't only taken a
fancy to one exotic dance style. The buzz is that Katrina and 'Dhoom 3'
co-star Aamir Khan will be learning acro-dance!The complex art is a mix
of ballet, jazz and modern dance styles that switch from dance to
acrobatics. Only time will tell if they're any good at it!
Vidya Balan's film 'The
Dirty Picture' needs no more introduction. The actress underwent intense
training to get into the skin of Silk Smitha. She learned Latin
American salsa, to help loosen up her body language. There's little
doubt that the classes worked in her favour.
Priyanka Chopra took the south American tango classes for
Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Saat Khoon Maaf', where she danced her feet off in
the song 'Darling'
Although not for a film,
Kajol also took up salsa classes post her pregnancy to get into shape.
To her luck, her next film 'You, Me Aur Hum' called for her and hubby
Ajay Devgn to groove in time to some sexy salsa music. What a
coincidence!
