Public Sector Banks On Hiring Spree In next 3 years

In recent years the craze for bank jobs has been increased. After recession all streams turned to government sector and majorly into banking sector. Here is a good news for all the aspirants.

Public sector banks have planned to recruit around 34,000 officers and 51,000 clerks in the next three years in a bid to expand their operations through new branches, especially in semi-urban and rural areas.

The government has set a target to provide banking facilities to areas with population above 2,000 by March 2012. Only 37 percent of bank branches are in rural areas and less than 40 percent of the countries population have bank accounts.

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), an autonomous organisation engaged in recruitment of personnel and internal promotion in banks and financial institutions, will conduct common recruitment examinations of clerks and officers for all the 27 public sector banks.
