Salman Khan. The
name is enough to set the cash registers ringing, it seems. Blockbuster
films and sky-rocketing TRPs kept the Dabangg Khan in the news all year
round. The notorious Khan has got a blast from his controversial past
towards the end of the year, but we think Sallu bhai's gold chase will
hardly be affected by the same.
200cr ka tiger
It is almost routine for Salman Khan films to enter the 100-crore club. But his last film, 'Ek Tha Tiger' created history by achieving the magical 200 crore mark! Paired up with ex-flame, katrina Kaif, this Kabir Khan directed film was (surprisingly for a Salman Khan film) appreciated by a large part of critics as well. Releasing on Eid, which is reportedly the actor's lucky day, the film opened to packed houses has made the fastest 100 crore in Bollywood!
Peece maker?
After being shunned by the first wives club of Bollywood of her alleged affair with Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka was spotted at arch rival Salman Khan's house late in the night. The two were snapped by photographers early in the morning when Piggy Chops was being escorted out of the building to her car by Salman. According to a tabloid report, on the same night director Kabir Khan had thrown a success party of 'Ek Tha Tiger' but Salman missed the do.
Bigg Boss Season 6
Salman returned to the small screen once again with Bigg Boss season 6. But the actor's paycheck was anything but small. He became the highest paid Bollywood star on Indian TV by taking home Rs 3.8 to 4 crore per episode! Salman beat the likes of Aamir Khan (Satyamev Jayate), Amitabh Bachchan (Kaun Banega Crorepati) and Madhuri Dixit (Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa) for the title. His anchor act in the current season of Bigg Boss is also being appreciated by his loyalists.
The Buck never stops!
A local court in Jodhpur on December 10 summoned Salman Khan and four other actors including Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Tabu and Neelam to appear before February 4 for the framing of charges in the black buck poaching case. Two blackbucks were allegedly poached on October 1-2 in 1998 during the filming of 'Hum Saath Saath Hain'. Trouble doesn't end for Salman here as he has also been summoned in the 2002 hit-and-run case after complainant claims evidence was faked to manipulate the trial. The Dabangg actor might just have to spend his birthday doing rounds of the court.
But all was not lost as the Khan returned with Dabangg 2 directed by brother Arbaaz. Reportedly, the film has already made 60cr and will soon enter the coveted 100 crore club. It’s music also created waves and Kareena Kapoor's first ever item number 'Fevicol Se', topped the chartbusters even before the film released!
