4 charged with murdering NRI shopkeeper

Four Britons, including three teenagers, have been charged with murdering a popular Indian-origin shopkeeper in the Yorkshire town of Huddersfield on February 20 during a robbery at his store.

Muawaz Khalid, 20, and three unnamed 17-year-old boys have been charged with the murder of Gurmail Singh, 63.

They are accused of the murder and robbery of Singh who was attacked with a weapon at the shop.

The shopkeeper had suffered serious head injuries and died in hospital the next morning.
