Mumbai:  In Mumbai, a young driver in a speeding Porsche has hit a motorcyclist, Ainul Haq, near the police Gymkhana on Marine Drive, who is now in critical condition.object classid='clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000' codebase='http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,0,0' width='418' height='385' id='player' align='middle'>

Twenty four-year-old Ankesh Shahra was arrested and released on bail for rash and negligent driving. His father, Dinesh, is the Managing Director of Ruchi Soya, a company with a turnover of more than 13,000 crores.

The man who Ankesh hit is 22 years old; he works for a restaurant named Zaffran.

It took a nine-hour surgery to fix his dislocated elbow. He is likely to spend at least the next 12 days in hospital.

His employer at the restaurant, Chetan Sethi, is looking after him because his family - a wife and child - are in Jharkhand.  "Basically his right leg - they said it will take 8-10 days to know whether there will be any movement," Mr Sethi explained. "They're not very clear whether the movement will come back or not. The left leg also has a lot of damage. And apparently his hand which has lost some movement - where he will not be able to do any fine work like writing."

An eyewitness named Goldie explains, "I was basically out for a nice bike ride with my friend and I saw a couple of people gathered near Marine Drive... and I saw this guy who was literally bleeding out there. Now even if I'm thinking of that moment,  I am getting goose bumps because that guy's entire hand was almost cut, like his entire arm was about to get dislocated."
