Waqf board to appeal against Ayodhya verdict in a month

New Delhi:  Within a month the Sunni Central Waqf Board will appeal against the Ayodhya verdict in Supreme Court. The All-India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has decided to become an intervener in the appeal to be moved by the Waqf Board.

On October 9, a crucial AIMPLB meeting is scheduled in Delhi, to discuss the Allahabad High Court's judgment threadbare.

The three key points for appeal it appears are:

  • Faith not evidence was the basis of verdict on the birthplace on Ram
  • Muslims had possession of inner courtyard until 1949, when idols were placed secretly
  • Also the Waqf Board will challenge the High Court's verdict that the mosque had been built against the tenets of Islam
