Two Congress MPs of East Godavari took diametrically opposite stands on the ongoing ‘Odarpu Yatra' of Kadapa Member of Parliament Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy on Tuesday.
Vundavalli Arun Kumar, Rajahmundry MP, called on Mr. Jagan near Tuni and extended his support.
“It is true that I met Jagan. But, it is not correct to say that I have given any direction to the 11 Congress MLAs from the district,” he said.
On the other hand, G. V. Harsha Kumar, Amalapuram MP, told The Hindu that AICC general secretary Veerappa Moily had advised him against participating in the yatra as it did not have the sanction of the party leadership and was purely personal in nature.
