Bhupathi, Paes lose in Australian Open final

American twins Bob and Mike Bryan sealed their third straight Australian Open doubles title on Saturday after defeating India's Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes 6-3 6-4 at Rod Laver Arena. The top-ranked Bryans, winning at Melbourne Park for the fifth time, now have 10 grand slam titles, one behind open era leaders Todd Woodbridge and Mark Woodforde of Australia.
The Bryans broke Paes's serve at 3-2 in the first set and Bhupathi's at 4-4 in the second to seal the match in an efficient 68 minutes.
Triple grand slam winners Bhupathi and Paes had reunited for their first major tilt since the 2002 Australian Open.
"(Winning) never gets old," said Bob.
"It never gets old. Especially to play those two guys, you know, the 'Indian Express', who we have tons of respect for. We were jacked up for this match."
