ENGLAND'S pulsating tie with India has brought the World Cup to life after a dull start.
Sachin Tendulkar and Andrew Strauss both smashed centuries in a match where momentum swung violently as England somehow reached 8-338 to match India's total.
Tendulkar made a new entry in the record books to become the first man to make five World Cup centuries - his 47th in ODIs - as India piled up a seemingly winning total.

Playing in a sixth World Cup, Tendulkar made 120 to move ahead of compatriot Sourav Ganguly and Australians Mark Waugh and Ricky Ponting on four centuries. The ''Little Master'' smashed 10 fours and five sixes in 115 balls. But England's reply was given vitality by Strauss, who struck 158 off 145 balls, and Ian Bell made 69 to put their team in sight of victory.
It was well set at 2-281 before Zaheer Khan dismissed Strauss and Bell in successive balls. India then was favoured to win when England needed 14 off the last over.
But Ajmal Shahzad cracked a six off Munaf Patel's third ball before Graeme Swann took a single from the last delivery to ensure the fourth tie in World Cup history.
