“The two contesting parties who filed the Ayodhya title suit have to resolve the matter among themselves through discussions. If it was not possible, then the court verdict has to be accepted,” Mr Mukherjee said on the sidelines of a function here.
The Allahabad High court was on Sep 24 expected to deliver the verdict in the 60-year-old Ram Temple-Babri Masjid dispute. However, the Supreme Court stayed the judgement on a postponement petition filed by a retired bureaucrat Ramesh Chand Tripathi.
The fate of the special leave petition seeking deferment of the High Court verdict will be decided on Tuesday, Sep 28.
