Tata Motors has said that it is planning to launch its new cross-over between a multi-utility and sports utility vehicle, Tata Aria next month in the country.
Tata Aria was showcased earlier this year Auto Expo 2010 in Delhi. The vehicle is ingeniously built by Indian engineers and showcases the country’s capabilities in design and competitive edge.
Aria features enhanced safe features like six air-bags and ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and is the first of its kind in India. Experts say that the Tata Motors could get huge sales as the Indian market and consumer are witnessing robust growth. The company could also take advantage of the festive season with the launch next month.
The vehicle has a sturdy body and powerful engine allowing it to go well in any terrain. It will feature a 2.2 Litre diesel engine and will enter the segment dominated by Scorpio, Xylo, and Innova.
After the news of the launch next month came, the shares of the company rose 0.21 percent at NSE (National Stock Exchange). Tata Motors currently offers other SUVs and MUVs including Safari and Sumo Grande.
Tata Aria is expected to be priced at about Rs 10 lakh in the Indian market.
