Komaram Puli ticket price hiked

As a favour to the big guys in the film industry, the state government has decided to increase the ticket price for Power Star Pawan Kalyan's S.J. Suryah directed Komaram Puli, produced by Singanamala Ramesh. As per the new rate, the minimum price will be Rs. 25 as against Rs. 10 and the balcony ticket will be Rs. 75 as against Rs. 50. Komaram Puli will grace screens on September 9. The film stars Pawan Kalyan in the role of a cop for the first time. Music is composed by Academy award winner A.R. Rahman. Debutante Nikisha Patel is the heroine. 

Anwar coming on October 15

 

Upcoming superstar Prithviraj's much anticipated Anwar, directed by Amal Neerad, will grace screens on October 15 during Pooja holidays. The film was earlier expected on September 10 as a Ramzan treat. According to sources, the makers pushed the release of the film from Ramzan to Pooja holidays to avoid clash with other Ramzan releases: Mohanlal's Shikar, Mammootty's Pranchiyettan and the Saint and Jayaram's Makeup Man. Anwar, scripted by the director himself with his help of R. Unni of Big B fame, is produced by Rajesh Zacharias under the banner of Red Carpet Films. Debutant cameraman Satheesh Kurup cranks the camera and Gopi Sundar is the man behind the music. 

Soundarya Rajinikanth weds Ashwin

 Soundarya Rajinikanth, younger daughter of actor Rajinikanth andLatha Rajinikanth, married Ashwin Ramkumar, a Chennai based industrialist, today at the Raja Muthiah Hall, Chennai. The couple were engaged on February 17th this year. Soundarya Rajinikanth, who owns Ocher Studios, produced her first movie Goa which was released this year. Her pet project Sultan, featuring her dad as an animated avatar, is yet to hit screens.

 Kollywood superstar Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth's marriage with Ashwin Ramkumar was a grand affair at the Rani Muthaiah Hall in Chennai. Earlier, a formal engagement ceremony took place yesterday on the eve of their wedding . Y. Gee Mahendran and family, Sridevi, Boney Kapoor, Maheshwari, Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, K. Balachander, M.K. Alagiri and his family, Mohan Babu, N. Ram, (Editor of The Hindu) and Ramanarayanan graced the occassion. The wedding took place in typical Iyengar style this morning. The wedding reception will take in the evening. Suhasini and Mani Ratnam, Balachander, Y. Gee Mahendran and family, Prabhu and family, P. Susheela, Vairamuthu, Sivakumar and his wife, Nakeeran Gopal, K. Raghavendra Rao, Mohan Babu, Andrea and Suman attended the wedding to bless the couple. 

Naan Mahaan Alla to be dubbed in Telugu

 Like his earlier films Aayirathil Oruvan and Paiyaa, leading Tamil actor Karthi's Naan Mahaan Alla will be soon dubbed in Telugu. While talking about the film's response, director Suseenthiran said: I've visited several theatres in the last two weeks and found the audience clapping hard during the climax. Now, I'm planning to dub and release the movie in Telugu. The director also said that he was pleasantly shocked to see the villains being applauded more than the hero during the climax fight scene. The last 20 minutes is the highlight and the fight sequence was praised by all. Many asked me where I found those scary-looking boys. Interestingly, I found three of the five boys loitering on a popular road in the city. While the fourth guy had earlier acted in Nanda, the fifth villain is Vijay Milton's assistant. I was lucky to find people who suited the characters, right from the hero, Karthi, to all the villains, he added. 

Bale Pandiya director speaks 

Bale Pandiya, directed by Siddharth Chandrashekar of Mitraa Media, has quite a lot of surprises. The film's story is about a young man who discovers his true calling and talents and his struggle to establish them. In short, the film's theme reflects how we lose sighto of our primary goals in our mechanized life and how to get them back. Bale Pandiya is a well-packaged film, the first half of which will be in a lighter vein and the second half will be a lot more commercial, the director said to a leading daily. I've worked with a lot of directors and I've learnt from all of them. I keep telling this. I'm like an Ekalavya and I have a lot of Dronas. I know I can deliver, he added. 

Charmi's cameo in Nagarjuna film 

It's a remarkable project for charming beauty Charmi, who has maintained a very low profile for the last couple of years with no big projects in hand! Unlike her usual item numbers, Charmi will make a brief but very important appearance in Telugu superstar Nagarjuna's next film, directed by Veeru Potla of Bindaas fame. The film already has Anushka and Priyamani as heroines and is currently progressing at a brisk pace in Hyderabad. Produced by D. Siva Prasad Reddy under the banner of Kamakshi Movies, the film will grace screens either on December 16 or 17. 

Karthi's Siruthai in December? 

Karthi Sivakumar rose to fame in Kollywood with his very first film Paruthiveeran, and went on to win the Filmfare Best Tamil Male Debut Award and the Filmfare Best Actor Award. He has been flooded with offers right after his debut flick Paruthiveeran. After the roaring success of Naan Mahaan Alla which released recently, Karthi is currently busy with his next film Siruthai (remake of Ravi Teja's Vikramakudu). Now the latest buzz is that the film is all set to grace theatres in December. Siruthai is directed by Tollywood filmmaker Shiva and K.E. Gnanavelraja of Studio Green is producing it. 

Nag's film is not Ragada 

There were rumours that Ragada will be the title for director Veeru Potla's Nagarjuna starrer being produced by D. Siva Prasad Reddy under the banner of Kamakshi Movies. But when contacted, the makers instantly clarified that the title is NOT Ragada. Starring Anushka and Priyamani as the female leads, the film is currently progressing at a brisk pace in Hyderabad and will grace screens either on December 16 or 17. After Super and Don, this is the third time Anushka teams up with Nagarjuna. On the other hand, this is the first time Priyamani acts in a Nag film. 

Jr. NTR as Lord Krishna 

 

In Telugu cinema, it is legendary actor NTR who frequently appeared in mythological characters like Lord Krishna and Rama! Now, his grandson Jr. NTR is following his footsteps! According to sources, Jr. NTR will be seen with the getup of Lord Krishna for some time in his upcoming flick Brindavanam, being directed by Vamsi Paidipalli under the banner of Dil Raju's Sri Venkateshwara Creations. Notably, the young actor has always expressed interest in enacting mythological characters and revealed this in several interviews. He even excelled with his performance as Lord Yama in the hugely successful Yamadonga. Tarak will be seen in a different avatar in Brindavanam. The film is about relationships and family values and I'm sure it will click with the masses, Dil Raju said. The scenes in which Jr. NTR will appear as Lord Krishna will be shot shortly. 

Krishna Vamsi to direct Ram Charan Teja 

 

Upcoming megastar Ram Charan Teja's fifth film has been confirmed! Creative director Krishna Vamsi will be directing this untitled project to be produced by Praja Rajyam MLA Ghanta Srinivasa Rao. The film will go to the sets in October, after Ram Charan Teja completes his two films: Bommarillu Bhaskar directed Orange and Dharani's Merupu. Reportedly, megastar Chiranjeevi personally called on Krishna Vamsi and asked the director to make a film with his son Ram Charan Teja. Krishna Vamsi has already narrated a storyline. More details are yet to be known.
