Blues singer Michael Grimm wins America’s Got Talent

The top four finalists of America’s Got Talent were Michael Grimm, Prince Poppycock, Fighting Gravity and Jackie Evancho. After impressive performances week after week, Jackie Evancho won the hearts of the viewers and was considered the front runner to win the whole thing. Despite the public anticipation, last night on America’s Got Talent was Michael Grimm’s night.
Nick Cannon, the host of the show addressed the finalists and siad:” It is an unbelievable achievement to get this far”. The contestants shared the stage with famous stars. Poppycock sang with Donna Summer “The Last Dance Together”, Michael Grimm performed “Me and Bobby Mcgee” with Jewel, Lionel Ritchie took the stage and performed “Dancing on the Ceiling” while Fighting Gravity did their act. As expected by some of us, later on that night, Jackie Evancho did a duet with opera superstar Sarah Brightman.
The final two contestants of the night were Michael Grimm and Jackie Evancho and after a suspense building moment, Nick Cannon made public the name of this year’s winner of America’s Got Talent. Micheal Grimm sang ” When a man loves a woman” during the final. The Mississippi blues singer was amazed by the announce and spoke to  People about Evancho ” I really thought Jackie had it in the bag”. “I was preparing my speech to leave. I couldn’t believe I heard my name. I was trying to make sure that what I thought was going on was going on, you know? This is definitely an out-of-body experience. This whole journey has been, but especially now.”
Michael Grimm is now preparing for America’s Got Talent live tour ,beginning October 1 and is excited about starting work in the studio for his debut album.
