"I swear on Nanjundeshwaraswamy, henceforth I will not denotify lands illegally," stated Yeddyurappa on Nov 16.
However, the BJP leader Yeddyurappa adopted several new steps to clear his name from the alleged land scam as asked the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) to prepare a list of 4,000 persons who were victims of the alternative site scam.
In order to shift the attention to other scandals, the Chief Minister targeted those scams in which many common people lost government-allotted plots either because of litigation or interference by influential persons.
To emerge as a man of the masses, Yeddyurappa will allott the plots to common people.
He also called a Cabinet meeting on Thursday, Nov 18 and already announced a high level inquiry into charges against him.
BJP leader Yeddyurappa, though he repeatedly denied all allegations against him, has been allegedly charged that he freed government land to favour his two sons and other family members.
