News Desk: Breaking News! The nine-time national award winner Mani Ratnam became the first Indian to be awarded and honoured by prestigious Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory award at the Venice Film Festival.
Mani Ratnam was honoured at the 67th Venice Film Festival. On receiving the award, Mani said “film making fo
r me is almost like falling in love. This award has made him feel responsible and now he cannot be casual about making films”.
After the ceremony, his latest movie 'Raavanan' or 'Raavan' in Hindi was screened. Once the screening was over, he received a standing ovation from 600 delegates, which lasted for 5 minutes.
Mani Ratnam, his wife Suhasini and actor Vikram attended the event, while Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were not able to come. 'Raavanan' or 'Raavan' will also be a part of the South Korea’ s PUSAN International Film Festival in October 2010.
