MAHABUBNAGAR: A partial bandh was observed in Gadwal town in the district on Thursday. The town bandh call was given by Telangana JAC town unit and opposition parties protesting over the establishment of statue of late Chief Minister Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy in the town.
Business establishments, educational institutes and petrol bunks remained closed. They said that late Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy was against to the creation of separate Telangana state.
Hence there was no need for his statue, they said.
However, Minister for Small Scale Industries D.K.Aruna unveiled the statues of the former Chief Minister at Jammichedu, Ghattu and Gadwal towns.
KCR visits Mahabubnagar
MAHABUBNAGAR: Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief and Lok Sabha member from Mahabubnagar K.Chandrashekhar Rao in his whirlwind tour visited several areas in Mahabubnagar town on Thursday evening. The TRS chief who visited Juma Masjid area sanctioned Rs.1.5 crore from his MPLADS for the Shadi Khana, Urdu Library Hall and Community Hall. He announced Rs. 5 lakh for the development of Pochamma temple. He also announced Rs.10 lakh for construction of SC Community Hall at Subhash Nagar. The TRS chief hosted Iftar party at Sudharshan Function Hall.
