News Desk: Breaking News! Against the 'Burn A Quran Day', the US said to burn the holy Quran on September 11 could endanger the peace and harmony in the country, describing the decision by a Florida Pastor as an 'un-American'.
According to the State Department spokesman PJ Crowley, such proposal and decision by the pastor and his followers are disrespectful, provocative and divisive. The country has witnessed a number of voices rejecting such idea. AS the US is the nation of 300 million people and majority of Americans stand against the 'Burn A Quran Day' idea saying it an inappropriate and abhorrent.
Such idea can ruin American interest and put American lives at risk, said Crowley. There are many alternatives to commemorate 9/11 and the religious bigotry to move with, he said.
Condemning the proposal by an American church, the US secretary of state, Hillary Clinton said it will be disrespectful act to burn the copies of the Quran to mark the ninth anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
However, the pastor had said he is proposing such idea to combat radicalism. The idea had come to protest against Islam by inviting everyone to burn the Quran on the anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks.
